2014

Were moving and doubling/trippling in size. More info later

2013

The 2013 season has been a milestone year. 2500 litres of cider produced. Our first commercial outing will be at the Collingham real ale festival again on the 3rd and 4th of June 2014 with some still bag in the boc scrumpy cider.

2012

The 2012 season has been a washout and its stopped us going commercial this year. Due to the rains very few trees managed to produce any fruit. We only collected 800kgs which is more than 50% down on the previous year. Sorry. A big fail but its out of our control. Lets hope we have a good spring and summer next year. Weve managed a lowly 500 litres of cider. hey ho.

2011

This year was a watershed, producing 1000 litres with the Stringer Mk3 press frame. Further improvements aided production such as the powered hydraulics for the frame and finer pommace produced by the scratter. A significant amount of apples are now being collected from local growers and we managed 1700kgs in total. Over 250 litres returned to our growers. Still non commercial and the first year theres enough to be drinking it when the 2012 season starts, hurrah….

2010

Managed 400 litres with an improved steel press frame but still struggled. The frame was damaged on the last day and was beyond repair. We also destroyed all the 2009 cheesecloths due to the improved press frame. All the cider this year was put into bag in the box and kept still. The logistics of bottling 800 bottles was beyond us then. Larger steel was sourced for a new frame. The cider lasted till July!

2009

We made just 120 litres with a flaky wooden press in 2009. To be frank after the 2008 financial crisis it was the best option for me to be able to have a tipple! No intension of commercialisation and it was all gone by February 2010. Most cider was bottled and was a little acidic as it contained a significant amount of wild apples.
